Engineering at McLennan Community College introduces students to problem solving and design through labs, hands-on projects, and small classes. Early courses let students sample several branches of the field before committing to one. Most students treat the college as a launching point and move on to a university. The first two years cover many specialties, including civil, mechanical and aerospace, and electrical and computer engineering, so students can follow the most direct route toward their intended degree. A partnership with Tarleton State University also lets students complete a bachelor's in civil or mechanical engineering close to home, without relocating. Graduates of those tracks can pursue jobs in factories, building projects, and municipal infrastructure around the region, and advisers help students compare transfer agreements.
