BA/BS in Dance

Dance at Middlebury College is offered as a minor, a joint major, or a full major that leads to a Bachelor of Arts. Students outside the major can also enrol in dance courses for academic credit. The core curriculum blends artistic and scholarly inquiry. Students train in contemporary and world techniques, create and choreograph work, study the history and cultural meaning of dance, learn how the body moves, and perform. The major is designed to provide broad expertise in dance while giving students flexibility to follow personal educational goals. Joint and full majors complete a senior project. Students may also dance in master classes taught by visiting artists and perform in concerts choreographed by faculty and fellow students. The department's pages also list events, office hours, and ways to stay connected.
