The General Biology master's (M.S.) is an online degree delivered by the Department of Biological Sciences and is often called the Teachers in Biology program. It is aimed at secondary school teachers and others who pair biology with education. Completing the degree can help teachers in most states move up a certification level or pay scale, or add an endorsement. Graduates may also pursue roles such as community college instruction. Students need 33 semester hours and can finish within two years, with all coursework taken at a distance. Mississippi State Online charges the same in-state rate to every student.
