BA/BS in Education, General

The Bachelor of Arts in Education is a full-time, four-year degree that prepares future teachers and education professionals with an emphasis on social justice and culturally responsive practice. Students learn current theory from experienced educators and test it through field placements in schools. Two tracks are offered. One leads to dual certification in early childhood education and special education for those who want their own classroom. The other, Educational Studies, suits students interested in work related to education and child development. The curriculum also covers services for learners with special needs, including partnership with families. The Pennsylvania Department of Education has accredited the program. Field experiences begin early and continue through the degree, so students build classroom confidence well before they finish.
