BA/BS in Accounting and Related Services

Accounting is a concentration within the business bachelor of science. It teaches the language of business while also building a grounding in how businesses and nonprofits are run, and it prepares students to sit the Certified Public Accountant exam. Graduates look toward careers in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. A required internship of at least 150 hours forms part of the degree, and students have worked at firms including a major accounting firm, a trust company and a Chicago art museum. A featured course in financial accounting covers standard accounting principles and how financial results are reported, along with the analysis of financial data for decisions. The program is led by the university's business school.
