AA/AS in Criminal Justice and Corrections

This associate degree suits people who want to protect and serve their community. Hands-on learning experiences are woven together with theory courses throughout the program. Students can pursue a law enforcement certification honored by the state justice department, alongside other career-oriented opportunities such as work as a sheriff's deputy. A criminal background check or health record may be required for the program, but admission to the college is not denied because of a background or health history. Most of the classes meet in person at the Wausau campus, with a smaller share delivered online, giving students some flexibility in how they study and plan their schedules around work and family. Graduates may find openings in community safety and corrections settings.
