Cybersecurity students first build a base across information technology, computing and business systems, and then add courses specific to security. The mix develops the technical and business skills that employers look for in security staff.
A required applied experience connects learners with real-world practice, and the program meets Homeland Security requirements. Internships, company visits, mentoring and a course that supports the internship search are part of the experience.
The School of Computing & Analytics offers the degree on campus. Graduates pursue positions as security analysts, systems analysts, software developers and web developers, and may continue to an online master's degree or a legal studies degree in digital law. Students finish with a record of applied work, and security topics are woven through the technical and business courses.
