Cert in Drafting/Design Engineering Technologies/Technicians

The Industrial Design Engineering Certificate leads to work in design and manufacturing. It welcomes first-time college students and returning learners, and it can be completed in about a year. Students build two- and three-dimensional models for production and prototypes with design software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and they get practice with equipment including 3D printers. They also learn to assess designs, develop prototypes and present results to employers or clients. Possible roles include industrial draftsperson, 3D printing technician and mechanical designer, as well as other positions across product development.
