BA/BS in Anthropology

Anthropology majors receive training across the main branches of the discipline and can then concentrate on topics that match their interests. Professors have carried out long-term fieldwork on several continents, including Africa, Latin America, Asia and North America, and they weave that firsthand experience into their teaching. Small interactions between faculty and majors are common, creating openings for mentoring and undergraduate research. Alumni have gone on to graduate study in fields like anthropology, social work, forensics, history and education, and some have entered medical or law school. Others joined organizations such as the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, VISTA, the park service and federal humanities agencies. Many earned fellowships or assistantships thanks to their research as undergraduates. No special requirements apply beyond university admission.
