The chemistry program combines rigorous study with flexible degree options and small classes. Students meet modern instruments early and are encouraged to serve the chemistry community as graders, tutors, teaching assistants and undergraduate researchers.
The curriculum is approved by the American Chemical Society, and the Bachelor of Science options, in both the standard and biochemistry sequences, satisfy the standards for ACS certification. The Bachelor of Arts is more flexible in its math and physics expectations, accommodating double majors and students headed to health-related programs.
A chemistry minor requires 23 to 24 units. The Natural Science Division reports on what its graduates do after finishing.
The program is part of Seaver College, Pepperdine's undergraduate college in Malibu, California. Prospective students can ask for more information, arrange a campus visit and meet with an admission counselor before submitting an online application.
