Program details

Overview

This certificate readies students for beginning positions in business by teaching the basics of organization and management, marketing and business law. The required list includes bookkeeping or financial accounting, business math, an introduction to business, marketing principles, personal finance and investments, business communication, computer literacy and public speaking. Certificate students are expected to arrive with basic arithmetic, reading and writing ability. The catalog lists the required courses and the learning outcomes graduates should be able to demonstrate when they complete the sequence. Because the credential is career focused, it can serve adults changing fields or act as a path toward a related associate degree at the same college. Students should review the catalog course list and speak with a counselor to plan their sequence.
