BA/BS in Astronomy and Astrophysics

This bachelor of arts is awarded in physics with an astronomy concentration. It gives a firm grounding in the physical sciences while leaving more room than a standard physics degree for liberal arts coursework and other interests. Graduates move into varied paths, including teaching, science writing and journalism, public outreach at museums, planetariums and observatories, health professions, and business roles that value scientific training. Entering students are best prepared by several years of high school math reaching pre-calculus, plus a year of study in chemistry, in physics, and in computer programming.
