PGCert in Accounting and Related Services

This certificate, offered in accounting at the graduate level, lets students complete the coursework that California requires for eligibility as a Certified Public Accountant. Practicing accountants may use it as well, to bring their knowledge and skills up to date. Some enroll to sample graduate accounting before deciding whether to pursue a longer degree such as the master's in Accounting and Analytics. Others hold accounting degrees earned in other countries and want exam preparation through coursework on American accounting regulations, aimed at the CPA exam. Classes take place on the Downtown Campus of SF State, which sits near the Financial District. Rather than a single fixed sequence, students pick courses from several areas of accounting.
