AA/AS in Electrical/Electronics Maintenance and Repair Technologies/Technicians

The Electronics Technology degree prepares students for careers as electronics technicians. It combines theory with practical application, on systems operated by hand as well as by computer. Graduates receive an Associate of Science. The college lists six specializations: biomedical instrumentation, communication, computer, industrial, general and telecommunication electronics. The plan of study opens with a general education core covering language arts, social science, mathematics and humanities. The program is taught on the Americus campus, and students may start each semester. Sixty-one credits are needed to graduate, though the outline lists a few more hours. The general education core spans language arts, economics and related subjects, so electronics technicians also practice writing, quantitative reasoning and communication alongside their technical lab skills.
