BA/BS in Communications Technologies/Technicians

This degree pairs core communication coursework with practical technical training for students who like to make things. The aim is to produce content creators who can work for broadcasters, large companies, nonprofits or their own ventures. Students select either a Media Production emphasis or a Photography emphasis. Career paths named by the department include content creator, audio and video producer, photographer, videographer, communication specialist and media manager. It fits hands-on learners who prefer producing pictures, sound or video to working mainly with theory. The program is taught at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee, within a Seventh-day Adventist Christian setting. Prospective students begin by applying to the university and can speak with a faculty adviser to plan their studies and compare the available options.
