MA/MS in Mathematics

The Master of Arts in Mathematics is offered by the mathematics department of the arts and sciences college. The department collaborates closely with two affiliated institutes, one for geometry and physics and one for mathematical sciences. A Secondary Teacher Option is designed for secondary school mathematics teachers. Its required courses run in the evenings and summers on a rotating basis, with part-time study over two years. Admission calls for a bachelor's degree majoring in mathematics or equivalent, and three letters of recommendation from mathematicians. Breadth and depth of prior coursework are weighed.
