Located on the Abilene campus, this bachelor's degree pairs the study of community and population health with training in business operations. It is delivered face to face by the Julia Jones Matthews school for population health and is meant for students who see themselves leading health efforts in companies, community organizations or industry.
The degree is built as a transfer-friendly completion program. Students take sixty-three hours at the health sciences center and combine them with as many as fifty-seven hours earned elsewhere, producing a 120-hour bachelor's degree. The Texas Core Curriculum must already be finished before a student starts. Either full-time or part-time enrollment is possible.
A sample plan moves through topics such as how health is distributed across groups, biological foundations, managing projects, running operations, economics and workplace communication. Applications for the fall term are due by August, and classes begin in the final third of that month.
