This route to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree lets students begin their professional education from wherever they live in the country. It is run by the Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy and carries accreditation from the national pharmacy education council.
Early coursework reaches students through a mixture of live and self-paced online sessions, and learners have some freedom to set their own pace inside fixed time limits. Contact with people is still built in: each week students meet faculty members and fellow students face to face. During the first two years they also travel to the Amarillo campus for concentrated immersion experiences, so relocation is not required until later.
In the third year, students join the campus they prefer and move toward clinical rotations. The design suits people who want a full pharmacy education but need flexibility during the opening years. The program page lists curriculum, application steps, admission requirements and costs for anyone ready to apply or ask for details.
