This graduate degree prepares students for advanced practice with people at every scale, from single clients and households to whole neighborhoods and agencies. Students choose between two concentrations, one in clinical social work and one in administration and policy. The school describes the program as one of the nation's top ten.
Several schedules are available. Applicants who already hold a social work bachelor's degree can enter an advanced-standing track starting in summer, while other students begin in the fall as full-time students on a two-year plan or as part-time students over a longer period. The program is offered on campus only and has no online option. Students complete practicum education supervised by a master's-level social worker, may add certificate programs to tailor their training to specific populations, and can pursue optional work in areas such as military social work practice. Applications open in early August.
