MA/MS in Physics

This physics master's degree offers research in condensed matter, nanostructures, surfaces, optics, complex systems, biological physics, atoms and molecules, physics teaching and planetary science. Students choose a thesis or nonthesis option. Everyone takes a common core, and the rest of the plan combines electives with thesis or directed research depending on the option selected. A planetary sciences track is listed. The degree is built flexibly so graduates can enter many industrial careers or go on to doctoral work, and it requires a minimum amount of coursework beyond the bachelor's degree. The program is offered through the Sciences college. The page quotes one per-credit-hour rate for Florida residents and a higher one for out-of-state students, and points readers to UCF's general cost information for a fuller estimate of what a graduate student will pay.
