The Master of Fine Arts in Art Practices is for artists committed to a professional life in the arts, preparing them to work as practicing artists, arts professionals and teachers at colleges and art schools. Students receive private studio space and use of facilities in the Visual Arts Complex.
Tracks include ceramics, drawing and painting, film, integrated media arts practices, and sculpture and post-studio practice. Each student is assigned a faculty advisor in their home area. The curriculum combines home-area studio courses, a graduate seminar, art history, theory, electives and a creative thesis, with first-year and pre-thesis reviews and a final exhibition and defense.
