MA/MS in Environmental Design

The master of design explores how architecture and design work together. Students go deeper in a focus like historic preservation or design studies. It is intended for experienced practitioners in architecture or neighboring fields like history or engineering. New students who want advanced interdisciplinary study without pursuing a professional architecture degree are also a good fit. Along the way, students strengthen both their research ability and their professional practice. Its flexible structure makes the degree a useful complement to professional experience, and it gives people from other fields a way to study architecture and design in depth without preparing for licensure. Applicants should check the program page for priority dates and the later dates when space allows applications to be accepted. The degree welcomes people from varied professional backgrounds.
