Cert in Design and Applied Arts

The Digital and Graphic Design certificate gives students a working base in computer-based imaging, layout and publication. It sits in the School of Visual and Media Arts and totals twelve credits. Topics range from editing and manipulating photographs to raster and vector graphics, typography, page layout and simple animation. The aim is for learners to build visual material that communicates information clearly and persuasively. Options include editing and design for print and web publications. The credential can be finished in an online format, though students are advised to speak with the department and an advisor because not every course is guaranteed to be offered remotely. Catalog rules set a 2.00 cumulative average for completion at the Missoula campus, and courses that count toward the credential must be passed with at least a C-.
