Cert in Design and Applied Arts

The Game Design program at New Mexico State University Grants leads to a 30-credit certificate of completion credential, offered through the Grants academic catalog. Students train on Unreal Engine 5, 3D Studio Max, Blender and Adobe software, gaining skills in 3D modeling, game concepts, visual effects and programming. Two game prototypes go into a portfolio, and campus studio workstations and VR equipment support the work over two semesters. As a short credential, it concentrates on practical coursework rather than a full degree plan. Course availability can change from term to term, so enrolled students are encouraged to meet with the program manager or an academic adviser when mapping out their sequence of classes and deciding how the credential fits their longer-term goals.
