PGCert in Visual and Performing Arts, General

Visual studies deals with a wide variety of images and artifacts, and also with how seeing has developed, how it works and the tools behind it. This graduate certificate belongs to USC's visual and performing arts offerings. It gives graduate students ways to reflect critically on visual objects and experience, and it encourages them to bring that thinking into scholarly or creative projects they are already pursuing. The USC catalog describes the requirements, the courses and how to apply. Applicants should read them with the pages of the relevant school or department, and ask the university when applications are due and what background is expected. The entry describes one program only, so reviewing wider department information can help applicants see how the certificate relates to other graduate options in the arts.
