MA/MS in Educational Administration and Supervision

The Leadership Development for Educators concentration within the Master of Education at the University of Washington Bothell is designed for educators seeking Washington's Residency Principal or Program Administrator certificate. The degree itself is optional alongside the certificate. The curriculum pairs instructional leadership skills with a deep look at historical and present-day structures that affect minoritized communities, preparing anti-racist leaders for schools and district offices. Students learn from practitioner faculty with experience across rural, suburban, urban, international and independent school settings. Community-based mentorship that draws on youth and community voices is combined with a highly structured internship in a school or district. After completing coursework and internship requirements, students become eligible for the state certificate. Applicants may pursue the certificate on its own or together with the master's degree.
