The Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering teaches how raw materials are turned into products such as medicines, clean energy technologies, food, semiconductors and batteries. The program combines chemistry, physics, mathematics and engineering science with computational tools.
Students begin with design projects, printing in three dimensions and Python coding, then move into process design, machine learning applications and undergraduate research. Internships and co-ops build professional experience, and the program is accredited by ABET. Admission is rolling, transfers are welcome, and an accelerated option lets students earn a master's degree on a four-plus-one schedule.
The department describes graduates as ready for industry or graduate study, with technical expertise, communication skills and professional experience. Prospective students can start an application or request information, and transfer students are welcomed.
