BA/BS in Computer Science

The computer science program pairs technical training with attention to communication skills and ethics. Students survey algorithms, data structures, architecture, databases, numerical work, operating systems, languages and software methodology. Computing courses are combined with advanced mathematics, giving graduates a grounding in both applications and underlying theory. Graduates can work with computers in scientific settings or continue to graduate study in computer design, engineering, algorithms and software development. Students can also gain practical experience through the university's own IT department and use modern computer labs. The program also states a mission of preparing students for careers while encouraging them to think about faith, service and the leadership of others in computing. The current academic catalog lists requirements and course descriptions. Waynesburg University, in Pennsylvania, delivers the program, and the department named on the program page can answer questions about it.
