AA/AS in Philosophy

The degree is a transfer pathway made up of 6 units in the core of required study in the major, together with CSU-transferable electives, general education under Cal-GETC, and a GPA of at least 2.0. A C or P, or better, is needed in every course counted toward the major. It prepares students for a philosophy major at a California State University campus. Completing the degree does not replace a review of what the destination campus expects, so students are encouraged to check the requirements of their intended university. The catalog lists the required and elective courses, related certificates and learning outcomes that describe the abilities graduates should demonstrate. Students typically combine major courses with general education and transferable electives so that the overall total reaches the unit requirement before they apply to transfer.
