The interdisciplinary leadership certificate is administered by the College of Innovation and Design. It develops practical leadership skills that students can apply to their profession and community.
Graduates are expected to describe leadership theories, compare leadership practice across different organisations and disciplines, recognise cultural strengths and differences, build skills based on their own strengths and interests, and guide others in teamwork exercises.
Students take one course from each of four categories: an introduction, behaviour, application and an elective, for at least 10 credit hours. Options span honors, design, health care, communication, engineering, management and nursing. At most one course may transfer in from another institution. The certificate is not eligible for federal financial aid unless it forms part of a degree program.
