BA/BS in Business Administration, Management and Operations

This management major within Xavier's business bachelor's degree teaches the leadership methods that help teams and organizations perform better. Students study how organizations are managed today and build abilities in self-awareness, solving problems, making decisions and communicating. These are practiced through coursework that treats management as a set of skills that can be learned and refined. The program also teaches how to handle difficult leadership and business situations. Throughout, it gives priority to ethical considerations, so that students learn to ask not only what works but what is right. Graduates are meant to enter workplaces ready to guide colleagues, coordinate projects and respond to changing circumstances. The combination of practical technique and moral reflection reflects the university's wider educational outlook. The major suits students who see themselves supervising others or running a unit someday, and who want a foundation in both the human and the analytical sides of leading. It also provides general business knowledge that supports a variety of career choices.
