Overview
Founded 1896 as Tianjin Beiyang School of Western Learning (Beiyang University).
In the third nation-wide restructuring of universities and colleges, the school was named Xi'an College of Construction Engineering after integrating and amalgamating departments of civil engineering, architecture, and municipal engineering at the Northeast College of Technology, Northwest College of Technology, Qingdao Junior College of Technology, and South Jiangsu Technical School 1956. Renamed Xi'an College of Metallurgy in 1959 and subsequently Xi'an College of Metallurgy and Construction Engineering in 1963.
