Overview
ENTPE is a French grande école based in Vaulx-en-Velin, in the Lyon area, dedicated to sustainable development of territories.
It describes its mission as training people to imagine, build and manage the places where society will live tomorrow. Teaching spans several levels, from the engineering curriculum to a Bachelor in ecological transition and territories, a range of Masters, specialised mastères and doctoral training, alongside professional education for employers.
Research is organised around five laboratories covering city, environment and society, territory economics and transport, civil engineering and buildings, traffic and mobility engineering, and pollutants and ecosysteMs. Second-year engineering students take part in public events such as a student forum on indicators of the ecological and social transition. The school also runs tailored programmes with industry partners.
One example is a one-year graduate programme in operational transport management created with the Transdev group and the school's transport economics laboratory, which alternates company placements with teaching at the school and leads to an ENTPE institutional diploma.
