INSA Rennes is a public engineering school in Rennes, Brittany, and follows the training model shared by the INSA group.

Its engineering curriculum lasts five years and is open to applicants at every level from the baccalauréat to four years of higher education. Credits are counted in ECTS, in line with the European licence, master and doctorate structure.

Students first complete two years of shared foundations in science, engineering and the humanities and social sciences, grouped in the Sciences et Technologies Pour l'Ingénieur department. They then spend three years in one of eight engineering specialisations, which determines the diploma they earn, and can tailor the path through elective options.

Work placements in companies and a semester abroad punctuate the whole course.

The school holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education for 2021-2027 and received the national Erasmus+ agency's good practice label for its student and staff mobility project. Incoming exchange students are welcomed through places allocated by specialisation, and disabled students can receive adapted study arrangements.

In 2026 the school marks its sixtieth anniversary with a year of events on innovation, solidarity and ecological transition.
