The University Polytechnic School is created in 2005 by the merger of the Institut de Formation d'Ingénieurs en Techniques Electroniques de Paris (IFITEP) and the Institute of Science and Technology (IST) founded respectively in 1991 and 1983.
Previously called Polytech Paris-UPMC, the school changed its name in 2018, following the merger with the University of Paris-Sorbonne, to Polytech Sorbonne
