Polytechnics Mauritius

Polytechnics Mauritius Ltd is the state's dedicated polytechnic higher-education provider, operating as a body corporate under the aegis of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research.

It was formed to deliver applied, industry-linked technical and vocational higher education across the island, and now runs seven campuses, including a flagship site at Réduit that houses its ICT and Emerging Technology cluster alongside sites in Montagne Blanche (tourism, hospitality and cruise management) and Pamplemousses (health sciences, nursing and paramedics), plus provision in Rodrigues. Polytechnics Mauritius serves roughly 6,500 students and positions itself around experiential, project-based learning, built on partnerships with more than 330 industry collaborators and purpose-built Skills Labs that connect classroom theory to workplace practice.

Its programme offer spans short courses and national training certificates through to diplomas and full degrees across six main faculties: health sciences, information technology, tourism, the built environment, business, and professional/soft skills. As a public institution regulated by Mauritius's Higher Education Commission, it forms part of the government's push to widen access to applied, employment-focused tertiary education outside the traditional university route, complementing the country's older public universities with a more hands-on, capstone-project-driven model of learning.
