Overview
Cuyahoga Community College, known as Tri-C, is a public community college serving Cuyahoga County and the wider Cleveland, Ohio area.
It opened in 1963 as the first community college in Ohio and has grown into the state's largest, with four main campuses and a number of off-campus training sites. Students can pursue associate degrees, short-term certificates, certificates of proficiency and post-degree professional certificates, along with a first bachelor's degree program aimed at advanced manufacturing.
Most programs are technical or career-focused, and many courses are offered in person, hybrid or fully online. Corporate College, a division of the college, delivers noncredit workforce and professional development training for employers and individuals.
Tuition is charged per credit hour and depends on whether a student lives in the county, elsewhere in Ohio or out of state.
Financial aid includes federal Pell Grants, work-study and a single general scholarship application. Many students attend part time, and a large share are preparing to transfer to a four-year institution.
