Overview
Chattahoochee Technical College is a public two-year institution in northwest Georgia and a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia.
It began in 1963 as Marietta-Cobb Area Vocational Technical School, opening with a single building in Marietta, and later operated as Chattahoochee Technical Institute before taking its current name. In 2009 it merged with Appalachian Technical College and North Metro Technical College, bringing the Pickens and Bartow county campuses into the college.
Today the college runs nine campuses across Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Paulding and Pickens counties, including a newer Aviation Training Academy in Paulding County. Students can earn associate degrees, diplomas and technical certificates in more than 50 program areas covering business, computer and information systems, digital media, engineering and technical trades, and health sciences, with day, evening, weekend, hybrid and online options.
Alongside credit programs, the college offers Adult Education classes such as free GED and HiSET preparation, continuing education and workforce training, and dual enrollment for high school students.
Tuition and fees are set by the Technical College System of Georgia, and the college points students to federal and state financial aid, scholarships and tuition waivers.
