Overview
Dallas College is a public community college serving Dallas County, Texas.
It traces its history to 1965 and operated for many years as a district of seven separately accredited colleges. In 2020 those colleges united under one name, and the original campuses at Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, Eastfield, El Centro, Mountain View, North Lake and Richland remain its main locations.
The college offers more than 300 academic and technical degrees and certificates, along with over 100 career-focused training prograMs. Credit programs are organised into schools covering business and hospitality, creative arts, education, health sciences, law and public service, manufacturing and industrial technology, and science, technology, engineering and mathematics. A separate Continuing Education division provides workforce training, and a small number of bachelor's degrees are offered in applied fields such as early childhood education, management and nursing.
Students may take classes at any campus, and many programs can be completed online.
The college reports more than 100,000 credit and continuing education students and over 3,200 full-time and adjunct faculty. International students from more than 100 countries study here, and the international admissions office supports applicants on F-1 visas.
Applying to the college is free, and almost every student qualifies for some type of financial aid, including grants, work-study, scholarships and loans.
