The part-time Master's Degree in Aruban Law, LLM, lets students complete the University of Aruba's Faculty of Law postgraduate curriculum over two years instead of one, through what the Faculty calls the langetermijntraject, or long-term track, aimed at students balancing study with work, family, or other commitments. As in the full-time program, teaching emphasizes active, independent learning over passive instruction, pushing students toward academic-level research and growing self-sufficiency as they progress. The part-time structure does not isolate students to the island: during the program, they can take elective courses at a partner law faculty abroad, complete an internship, or carry out a research assignment through exchange arrangements such as the EU's Erasmus+ scheme and similar partnerships outside that network which the Faculty maintains. The pacing gives working professionals and others with existing obligations a realistic path to the same postgraduate legal qualification awarded to full-time graduates, without compressing the material into a single year.
