Master in Mass Communications

Gulf University's Master in Mass Communications, running since the 2007-2008 academic year, suits those exploring where media studies, the running of media organisations, strategy at top media institutions, and content management are heading, applying them alongside today's media technology. The course builds advanced practice and leadership skills for the mass-communication field, develops a grounded understanding of current media trends, and brings in ethics and cultural sensitivity throughout, drawing working media professionals as well as new graduates into the classroom. Learning combines advanced theory with applied skills carried into real workplace scenarios, drawing on video, print, audio, digital, and web tools alongside social-media and search-engine analytics, and is rounded out with campus visits, guest talks, off-site workshops, excursions, and exchange opportunities. The course runs over three semesters and 42 credit hours at level 9 on Bahrain's qualifications framework, taught in Arabic at the Sanad campus.
