Kingdom University frames its BSc in Computer Science against Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and the Kingdom's higher-education strategy, both of which the university says point toward a digital, technology-led economy, a direction reinforced by gap analyses carried out by bodies such as Tamkeen. The program's rationale is that computing now touches every sector and almost every individual, even through something as basic as a mobile phone, and that programming itself is what keeps this expanding digital economy running. The fastest-moving innovation, the university argues, is happening in fields such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, blockchain and the broader internet of connected devices, and it expects future employment to shift toward these areas at the expense of more traditional computing jobs. The degree is positioned as foundational training for that shift, giving graduates the programming and computer-science grounding needed to move into these emerging specialisations. Students choose between two tracks partway through the program: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, or Cybersecurity, letting them angle their later coursework toward the side of computing that matches their career interest.
