The Bachelor in Education at the University of Bahrain prepares school leavers for a career teaching at primary level, through one of four specialisation tracks: Cycle 1, Mathematics and Science, Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, or English Language. Coursework covers the primary curriculum, learning and human-development theory, inclusive education, teaching methods and innovative instructional strategies, alongside the assessment techniques used in primary classrooms.
Teaching-practice placements in real primary schools let students apply and be assessed on these competencies directly, through analysing case studies, running microteaching sessions, completing hands-on exercises and weaving in ICT tools. Alongside subject knowledge, the programme builds academic language, critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving and analytical skills. Graduates are prepared to enter the primary teaching profession in Bahrain's public schools with the knowledge and classroom competencies needed to create engaging learning environments, support student growth, and contribute to continuous improvements in the quality of primary education.
