Higher Diploma in Education

The Higher Diploma in Education at the University of Bahrain is a one-year, two-semester programme built for teachers who have not yet earned a formal teaching or education qualification. The curriculum covers educational theory, teaching methodology, classroom management and assessment technique, giving working teachers the pedagogical grounding they are missing. Through coursework and practice, participants strengthen lesson planning, instructional delivery, differentiated instruction and reflective teaching habits, taking four courses each semester for eight courses overall. Depending on specialisation, instruction is delivered in Arabic or English. Graduates are expected to apply the personal and professional knowledge gained to qualify for appointment as teachers with Bahrain's Ministry of Education, or to take up related non-teaching education roles, while building the planning, assessment and leadership skills teachers need to keep improving their own practice over time.
