Program details
Overview
The programme prepares graduates for two roles: learning support worker for pupils with specific educational needs in mainstream education, and specialised teacher in special education. It connects recent developments in Belgium and abroad with the daily practice of school teams and learning-support centres. Students without a teaching qualification complete an additional training component alongside the core courses.
The course is a bachelor-after-bachelor award at university-college level, so entry is open to people who already hold a bachelor. Teachers of pre-primary, primary or secondary education can start directly, and graduates of health and welfare bachelor degrees are also welcome. The award leads to work in mainstream classrooms or special-needs settings.
