AA/AS in Chemistry

The Associate of Science in Chemistry is the first stage of a four-year chemistry pathway at the University of Belize, where two years at associate level are followed by two years of upper-level study toward a Bachelor of Science. The Science Department offers it to introduce students to chemistry's central ideas, the scientific method and the place of chemistry in society. Learners also meet applied areas such as environmental work, agriculture, forensics and the food industry. According to the catalogue, the design supports entry into chosen careers, helps match national needs with the capacity to meet them, and prepares students for graduate studies. Other two-year associate options from the same department combine Biology with Chemistry, or Chemistry with Mathematics.
