Tuition is billed per course as you register. The per-credit rate shown is Athabasca University's 2026–27 Alberta-resident rate; Canadian students living outside Alberta pay CAD 366.17 per credit (CAD 1,098.50 per 3-credit course), and students living outside Canada pay CAD 569.17 per credit (CAD 1,707.50 per course).

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Athabasca University admits this program on an open-entry basis: the program page states that this program has no formal admission requirements. beyond being 16 years of age or older, and enrolment is year-round with no set start dates. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency with one of IELTS Academic 6.0 overall, TOEFL iBT 80 with a minimum essay score of 20 (or, on the scale used for tests taken from Jan. 21, 2026 onward, an overall score of 4 with at least 3.5 in Reading, Listening and Writing and 4 in Speaking), PTE Academic 59 overall with no skill below 51, Duolingo 105 overall with no band below 75, CAEL 60, or MELAB 80, or by presenting 15 transferable credits from a recognized English-speaking post-secondary institution or Athabasca's own English Language Proficiency Program at an overall average of 75%. No portfolio, interview, standardized test or work-experience condition is published for this program.

Application Details

Application Deadline: Athabasca University's undergraduate degrees, majors and university certificates admit on a continuous, rolling basis for both domestic and international applicants: there is no fixed application deadline, and most individualized-study courses start on the first of every month provided registration is received by the 10th of the prior month. The university's published admissions information does not distinguish international timing from domestic. The one fixed-cohort exception among this institution's programmes is the Post-LPN Bachelor of Nursing, whose September 2027 intake takes applications from Sept. 1 to Nov. 15, 2026, with all supporting documents due by Nov. 30, 2026, for both domestic and international applicants; the Post-RN Bachelor of Nursing, by contrast, remains open/rolling with monthly starts. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
