Early Learning and Child Care Certificate

The Early Learning and Child Care Certificate is a two-term, fully online program at Burman University leading to a Certificate Level 2 Early Childhood Education credential. Courses are delivered asynchronously, so classes do not meet in real time. The curriculum consists of eleven three-credit courses covering topics such as English writing and communication, child development, development through play, health, safety and nutrition, and development through nature. The program includes two supervised practicum placements, a 150-hour Practicum I and a 200-hour Practicum II, giving students hands-on experience in child care settings. Students must complete a clear Police Information Check before beginning practicum work. The certificate prepares graduates for entry-level roles in early learning and child care environments and begins each September.
