Diploma in Sciences de la nature : profil Découverte

Profil Découverte is a two-year, pre-university Diploma of College Studies (DEC, code 200.B1) within Cégep Édouard-Montpetit's Sciences de la nature program, providing a broad foundation in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, and geology. The curriculum is organized around three themes—scientific communication, environment, and research—and trains students to apply scientific principles to everyday and real-world problems. One course in the program is eligible for university credit recognition, and the profile includes geology courses noted as a regionally distinctive offering. Students remain in a dedicated cohort throughout the program, with the option to switch profiles after the first year without academic penalty. Support includes peer tutoring and specialized study centres. International mobility opportunities include a Scandinavian sustainability project. Enrollment is limited to 45 spots per year, with admission offered in the Fall term only. Graduates are prepared for university programs in the pure and applied sciences, health sciences, and related fields.
