The Indigenous Canadian Relations program builds knowledge of Indigenous-Canadian relations, Indigenous worldviews, and the historical context of Indigenous and settler relationships in Canada. Students examine treaty-making, the impact of colonial policy, and the ongoing process of truth and reconciliation, developing skills to take part in informed conversations and build respectful relationships in personal and professional settings. The program leads to an Ontario College Diploma and is delivered entirely online through Distance Education, with full-time study completed in one semester or part-time study spread across the Fall, Winter, and Spring terms. Coursework includes Decolonizing History: Indigenous-Canadian Relations, Indigenous Identity in Relation to Land, and courses on communication, self, and workplace practices within decolonizing systems. A related five-credit Board of Governors' Indigenous Canadian Relations Certificate can be completed alongside a diploma program at Confederation College.
